Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel Workshop

The AzASTA Microsoft meeting at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall held on Thursday evening, June 6th was great! It covered so much more information than our previous meeting. Thanks to Melissa Brewer and Lisa Pennington at Microsoft for organizing this 2nd meeting for us and also for the drinks and catering from Tryst Cafe.

Our young but very detailed instructor was Will Norton, Product Advisor. This young man did a fantastic presentation for us, really knew his stuff, and made what could have been very dry topics into a fun evening of learning.

Will also talked about Microsoft products and services, and mentioned a 30-day free trial of Office 365 Home Premium (Office 2013 for Windows) available online.

Will covered the following topics from about 6-9 PM for the agents in attendance, though he talked about certain subjects more and some less in depth:

Use Tables to Create Newsletters and More

Manage Your E-mail and Contacts
By the end of this session, participants will be able to: · Use notifications, reminders, and flags to help manage messages sent · Add voting buttons to tally responses to messages · Track delivery receipts of messages · Receive replies to messages at a different address · Read messages in conversation view · Sort, search, and filter messages · Use categories, folders, and favorites to manage incoming messages · Automate rules and commands to help sort incoming messages · Deal with junk mail · Block sender, domain, group or list · Import contacts from previous versions of Outlook or other programs · Organize messages using multiple contact lists and contact groups · Edit and update contacts using e-business cards

By the end of this session, participants will be able to: · Create and format a table · Freeze heading panes for scrolling · Use Recommended Charts to create a chart · Edit chart styles and colors · Filter information in a table · Change colors in a chart · Change content using links · View spreadsheet with page breaks · Add headers and footers to spreadsheets · Change print options · Export a workbook
